The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), was founded on 8 August 1967 in Bangkok, Thailand. Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand was founder member. Brunei Darussalam participated on 7 January 1984 and Viet Nam joined on 28 July 1995.The ASEAN Vision 2020 was embraced by the ASEAN Leaders on the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN. They concurred on a common vision of ASEAN as a show of Southeast Asian countries, outward looking, living in peace, steadiness, and thriving, reinforced together in the organization in unique improvement and in a network of minding social orders.
At the ninth ASEAN Summit in 2003, it as chose by pioneers to settled that an ASEAN Community will be set up. At the twelfth ASEAN Summit in January 2007, the Leaders insisted their solid responsibility to quicken the foundation of an ASEAN Community by 2015 and marked the Cebu Declaration.
