NFL stands for National Fertilizer Limited is a Mini Ratna company, a public sector undertaking of the Government of India. It was incorporated in New Delhi on 23rd August 1974. In 1984 it carried India’s first inland gas based fertilizer project. The company is a major producer and supplier of chemical fertilizers, organic fertilizers, and industrial chemicals. It is listed on both the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange since the year 2001. It is the largest producer of urea. It was granted the status of a Mini-Navratna due to it’s Hugh profitability. NFL is focused on achieving sustained energy operations that are efficient for its aging manufacturing facilities. It also aims to maintain a pollution free environment and promote safety. It’s headquartered in Noida and has a total of 3464 employees (as per 2017). It is a part of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.
