NMDC:- National Mineral Development Corporation

NMDC stands for National Mineral Development Corporation. It is a mineral producer of the Indian Government. It is partly owned by the Government of India (72.43%). It was founded in the year 1958. It is headquartered in Hyderabad, India.

The number of employees working is about 5,700 (as of 2017-18). It trades on both the National Stock Exchange and the Bombay Stock Exchange. It is a part of the mining industry. It is involved in the exploration of iron ore, gypsum, limestone, dolomite, copper, rock, magnesite, diamond, phosphate, bentonite, tungsten, graphite, tin etc. It is the largest iron ore producer and exporter of India, producing more than 35 million tons of iron ore. This target is achieved by the working of 3 fully mechanized mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. The company also operates the only mechanized diamond mine in the country at Panna in Madhya Pradesh. It is a part of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India.
