NPCC:- National Project Construction Corporation
NPCC stands for National Project Construction Corporation. When India gained Independence in the year 1947, there was a need for all-around development in the country which ranged into each tappable aspect of the economy. Focus needed to be given to the development of infrastructure in the country. In the wake of Independence, giant infrastructure projects were required to be initiated. However, to carry out such projects neither the State Government Construction Departments nor the private sector was equipped in machinery. NPCC was established on 9th January 1957 to undertake Irrigation and Hydel Projects in the country. It was then established under the Ministry of Irrigation (Currently Ministry of Water Resources). After this, as the years passed by, NPCC invested in other construction fields. Over the past 55 years, the organization has created landmarks by completing a number of projects even in the remotest of areas where private sector companies weren’t willing to venture. NPCC has taken up challenging projects of importance to demonstrate its ability to contribute to the development of the nation. The organization believes in the implementation of the projects with highest customer satisfaction even with complying to the global standards and taking optimal care of all concerned stakeholders.
