NPCIL:- Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited
NPCIL is the acronym for Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited. It was established in September 1987 under the “Companies Act, 1956”. It is a Government-owned enterprise operating in the energy generation industry. It is based in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India. The enterprise generates nuclear power for electricity. It is under the administration of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. It was established with the objective of undertaking the designing, constructing, operating and maintenance of the atomic power stations for generation of electricity. This was done by keeping in the light the schemes and programmes of the Government of India under the “Atomic Energy Act, 1962″. It aims at being a global competitor in nuclear power technology while contributing towards long-term energy security of the country. It accomplishes its Corporate Social Responsibility by conducting activities and implementing projects related to Sustainable Development (SD). The company also complies with the Corporate Governance as per the guidelines of Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).
