SLV:- Satellite Launch Vehicle

The full form of SLV stands for Satellite Launch Vehicle. In the early 1970s, the Indian Research Organization really wanted to step up their game and develop the technology further. They wanted a technology needed to launch satellites, so they started a project called, Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV). The Satellite Launch Vehicle was headed by A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The function of the Satellite Launch Vehicle was a small launch vehicle. The Satellite Launch Vehicle was manufactured by the ISRO. The Satellite Launch Vehicle was originally from India. The Satellite Launch Vehicle had a height of 22m (72ft), the diameter of 1m (33ft) and the Mass of 17,000 kg (37,000lbs). The Satellite Launch Vehicle is currently retired. The Satellite Launch Vehicle had its launch sites in Sriharikota. There were total 4 launches, out of which 2 resulted in success, 1 in failures and another one in partial failure of the Satellite Launch Vehicle. The first flight of the Satellite Launch Vehicle was on 10th August in the year 1979 and the last flight on 17th April 1983.
