The basic steps to insert a line of text or to create a new document in the Word are listed:
- First, Go to the start menu and look for the Microsoft Word icon
- Now, Click that icon to open the Microsoft Word
- You will now see a blinking cursor or an insertion point in the text area below the ribbon
- Now, as soon as you start typing, the words will start to appear on the screen in the text area
- To change the location of your insertion point press the space bar, Enter or Tab keys
