MCF:- Master Control Facility
The Master Control Facility or MCF is a facility that is set up by the Indian Space Research Organisation or ISRO in Hassan which is the city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is established in 1982. The objective to introduce this facility is that it can monitor and control the geostationary and geosynchronous satellites which are launched by ISRO. This facility was the solely Master Control Facility introduced by ISRO till another one was established in Bhopal in the year 2005.
When ISRO was thinking and wanted to set up a control facility, at that time it inspected and look for various sites for the establishment of a facility that was offered to it within India. After searching for a long time, ISRO finally chose Hassan as the location and the reason for choosing is that because it was noiseless as well as encountered less terrestrial transmission as compared to other proposed sites. Low interference was an essential thing in the facility because the facility must be able to pick up even very weak signals from the satellite.
