NCERT:- National Council of Educational Research and Training

NCERT stands for National Council of Educational Research and Training is an organization of the government of India which was established on 1st September 1961. It was established as a literary, scientific and charitable society under Societies Registration Act. It was formed by merging seven existing national government institutes. NCERT was established with the motto to design and support a common system of education across the nation that takes into consideration the diverse culture of the country. Textbooks published by NCERT are prescribed as the curriculum of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the classes 1st to 12th. To make its books available NCERT has taken an initiative to provide soft copies of all the textbooks it publishes with an aim to increase its availability to all the students in every part of the country. These books can be accessed by an online system named e-pathshala. NCERT is a part of Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is headquartered in New Delhi. It is the prime organization providing advice and support for the improvement of school education throughout the nation.
