TIN:- Taxpayer’s Identification Number
TIN stands for Taxpayer Identification Number. A Taxpayer Identification Number is an identification code used by the government for tax purposes in the United States of America. It is also known as Tax Identification Number or Federal Taxpayer Identification Number. TIN can be assigned by two authorizing organization i.e. the Social Security Administration (SSA) or the Internal Revenue Services (IRS). A Taxpayer Identification Number is not given out under this name but is used to refer to any of the following five types of identification numbers given out by the government of the United States which can be used in the United States as a unique Identifier when interacting with the IRS. A TIN maybe: –
- A Social Security Number
- An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number
- An Employer Identification Number also is known as Federal Employer Identification Number
- An Adoption Taxpayer Identification Number
- A Pre payer Tax Identification Number.
