UNMOVIC – United Nations Monitoring Verification and Inspection Commission

The acronym of UNMOVIC is the United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission. It was made through the appropriation of resolution 1284 of the United Nations Security Council of the 17th day of December in 1999 and its central goal kept going until June 2007.

United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission was intended to replace the earlier United Nations Special Commission or UNSCOM to continue with the command to incapacitate Iraq of its weapons of mass obliteration or WMDs, and to operate a system of progressing observing and confirmation to check the compliance of Iraq with its commitments not to reacquire similar weapons restricted by the Security Council. In contrast to its ancestor, the staff of UNMOVIC was workers of the United Nations. In addition to the Office of the Chairman with official, legitimate and contact capacities. The commission i.e. UNMOVIC contained four divisions which are Planning and Operations, Analysis and Assessment, Information, Technical Support, and Training. It is additionally a managerial administration. The headquarters of UNMOVIC Commission is situated in the United Nations in New York.
